OVERVIEW BY ED TECH TEACHER
Both Dropbox and Google Drive are great services. As Educational Technologists, we find uses for both services. We recommend using Dropbox if you want a convenient way of storing your files or sharing links to of these files with others. Dropbox is also preferable if you have an iOS device (i.e. iPhone or iPad) and want to integrate it to some of the mobile apps you have that are linked toDropbox. We recommend using Google Drive if you are collaborating with others on shared documents (both real-time collaboration using native Google Docs file types and storing shared files), want to set custom access to files, or if storage space is a concern.
Other note: Drive can be synced with Edmodo, but not on the ipad, only on the computer. bb

Another cloud based storage option is Box. it allows 10GB of free storage with a maximum upload of 250 MB per file.
It seems to have a similar set up to Dropbox but has not been adopted in other apps as widely, but it is becoming more available.
The interesting part is that it offers 5GB more space than Dropbox.

OneDrive is Microsoft's cloud based storage solution, it replaces Skydrive. OneDrive offers more space than Dropbox with 7GB. If you are willing to work for it, you can boost this free storage to 15GB without any payment. Another nice cloud option. To open an account click here.
